Christmas Decorations

My favorite Christmas decoration is our tree topper. It is an Angel. I like it because of the way it is decorated. She has red hair and blue eyes. She has the beautiful white and gold gown on. It is my favorite. Also, she has candles in her hands and you can plug them into the other lights on the tree and they blink on and off. I love the way it makes our Christmas tree glow. It's like the candles are a little glimmer of God's love for us.

Chirstmas Toy

A tradition at Christmas every year is that everyone gives someone else a gift, that they really want or really needed. One year for Christmas I wanted a movie. I hadn't gone out and bought it myself because I thought if I put it on my list I would get it. Well, I usually have two Christmases, one with my mom's family and one with my Dad's family. My mom's family's Christmas came first; I opened all my presents on Christmas morning. I was very excited to get all the gifts they were very nice and they were other things that I want, but I didn't get the movie that I had been hoping for, I was a little bummed because I didn't get the movie, but I was OK I knew I still had to go to my other Grandparent's house and they might give it to me. Well, we were very busy, so it was January before we got to have Christmas with my Dad's family. I had opened all, but one of my presents, still no movie. I open the last present, praying that the movie would be in there. I opened it up, didn't see the movie. I was really bummed, but I go on and take out the clothes that were given to me, and there in the bottom of the box was the movie. I was so ecstatic. I had finally gotten the movie I had been wanting; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Santa

I found out about Santa when I was in 6th grade. I found out because my sister and I had gone to bed and then about an hour later my mom and all the grown-ups came upstairs and were getting the presents. I had woken up, because I had to go to the bathroom and I could hear them talking outside my room and then I heard something rustling as they went down the stairs. I go on to the bathroom and on the way a peek down the stair to where the Christmas tree was and I saw them putting the presents under the tree. I was kind of disappointed, but I had already started figuring out their secrets.

Thankfulness

Throughout the year many people take the good things in life for granted and don't think about what life would be like without them. Thanksgiving is a good time to remember all the good things that have happend to us over the year. I am thankful for my family, my friends, God, all the food I have eaten and will eat, and for the house I live in.

Thanksgiving Meals

My favorite food to eat on Thanksgiving is homemade Apple pie. I love apple pie. My mom has the best recipe. It is so sweet and juicy. I love it, but mom will only make it for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have to wait all year to enjoy a nice piece of apple pie. Life is rough.

Rain

Rain is God's way of cleansing the Earth. When it rains a lot at one time it means that there is a lot of sin that needs to be washed away. When it hardly rains at all that means there is little sin that needs to be washed away. Sometimes it is God's way of showing us how great and magnificent he is. When it rains after a long drought all the flowers come back to life and make the Earth beautiful again. After sin has destroyed us all we have to do is ask God to let the rain wash it all away; ask for forgiveness. Then we will become beautiful again, just like the flowers.

State

"Congratulations you made it to STATE!!". Every athlete dies to hear those few words. I'm no exception. To be able to attend a state meet is a huge honor. It's not just a race, it is an accomplishment. You can't just say you are going to state you for have to work for it. You have to endure pain, work through all the muscle cramps and soreness, through the heat, wind, mud, rain, snow, sleet, hail, thunder, lightening; everything imaginable. It's not a race, it's an accomplishment.
I'm so excited to be going to state this weekend. I have worked very hard for it. six months of training has really paid off. State will be a lot of fun. We get to run and then go to supper and then we get to do whatever we want. Which means PARTY!! I can't wait it will be so much fun!!

Miley Cyrus Concert

Last night was so fun. I was lucky enough to experience a once in a life time chance of seeing Miley Cyrus in concert. I was a very good concert. The special effects were amazing. When she sang Fly on the Wall she flew out over the crowd. Another song she sang was Rock and Roll on this song she was sitting on a motorcycle and they picked her up and flew her around the stadium. It was amazing. My seat was on the side of the stage. Normally you wouldn't think it would be a good seat, but it really was. I was able to see back stage where she was getting ready and was entering the stage. I was very glad I was able to go.

Trick or Treat

One of my favorite parts of Halloween is handing out candy to the little kids. I love seeing their costumes. The toddlers have the cutest costumes. One that I saw was a chicken. She was so younger that she was just riding in a little, red wagon. She looked like she was fenced in like a chicken normally would be on a farm. Another one I like was this little boy was dressed as a monkey. He came to the door and I gave him candy. He was so excited, he ran back to his parents yelling, "I GOT CANDY!!!!" :) he was so cute. I think my all time favorite costume for this year was my mom's friend's granddaughter. She is 5 months old. Her parents carved out a pumpkin and put holes in it for her legs, arms, and head. It was so adorable.

Black Cat

The black cat twiched it's tail twice. It hissed. It crouched. Whoosh!!! Came the cat toward Sally. Sally screamed and began running around frantically trying to free herself from the cat. Around and around the yard she went. Finally, her mother came out of the house to see what all the comotion was. She was in shock from the sight. She grabed the cat a through him over the fence and then went back to Sally. Sally was now laying on the ground crying. She was bleeding badly and was covered in scratches. Sally's mom helped her up and took her to the kitchen to get cleaned up.

Halloween Costumes

My favorite Halloween costume was when I was in 4th grade. I dress up as a robot. I had on grey pants and a long sleeve shirt then over top of that I had on a old computer box that I had covers in grey duct tape and had drawn buttons on. It was very fun to make. The only problem with it though was that I couldn't sit down in it, because I couldn't bend over. My next favorite costume was when I was in 7th grade we did this trunk-er-treats at my grandma's church and our theme was Charlotte's Web and I was dressed as Wilbur. It was very cute. I had on a pink sweat shirt, pink pants, pink socks, a pink curly tail, pink ears, and a pink nose-that I made out of a plastic cup covered with a pink piece of felt.

Halloween Senses

On Halloween night my senses just come alive.

I see, smell, hear, feel, and taste so many differents things.

Somethings are:

furry and blue, crinckley and dry,

sweet and squishy,

scary and screeching, green and slimey,

sparkley and shiney,

cold and brisk, howling and screaming.

All your senses come alive on Halloween night.

Scary movies

I can not stand scary movies. I refuse to watch them. I just don't see the joy in scaring people to death. What make a movie scary for me is people jumping out from behind doors with chainsaws wanting to kill you. That just creeps me out. The last scary movie I saw was Monster House. For awhile after I watched that movie I was afraid to walk on a hardwood floor because I was afraid it would eat my foot , because of the jagged "teeth" in the movie. Even today my sister still teases me about watching scary movies. She thinks it's fun jump from behind doors and scare the crap out of me.

Ghosts

When you think of Halloween you usally think of candy, pumpkins, witches, haunted houses, scare crows, black cats, scary stories, and ghosts. I love candy and pumkins and I can stand witches and scare crows, but I can not stand ghosts or scary stories. I know they aren't real, but they just give me the creeps. Why can't Halloween be a happy holiday, instead of a scary holiday? I would like Halloween much better if people focused more on the candy, pumkins, and fun costumes instead of trying to terrify people.

Halloween Night

Spooky,
Scary,
Strange
All come to mind
When
I hear the word
HaLlOwEeN.

Yellow glowing ghost
Are the suns
In the night sky.
Creaking, beige, rotten
Skeletons.
Short, green, hairy goblins
All walk and fly around
On the
31st of October,
Halloween night.

Ahhhh!
Don’t hurt me
You big green mean kid eating machine!!
I screamed to myself
At midnight on
Halloween.

Skeletons collapse like
Old brown, musty, wooden stairs
As they clink and rattle
Out of their grass covered graves.

Monsters
JUMP!!
Out of the cold, dark closet
And scare little kids
Out of their
Faded blue pajama pants.

Jack-o-lanterns
Smiling a one-
Toothed grin
In the night as
Wide as
The
Mississippi River.

While the
Clock
Strikes midnight
On
Halloween Night.

Spooky,
Scary,
Strange
All dance around
In my mind
On Halloween night.

There is something in my attic

When I was little I was afraid of dogs. I was terrified of dogs because I was so little that they would always jump on me and knock me over. Whenever I would see a dog coming I would run and hide and jump up on chair or something where it couldn't get me. Even today I still can't stand dogs. They terrify me to no end.

Never be afraid to sit awhile and think

It is always a good thing to think. Sometimes you just have to stop what you are doing and just think about things. It doesn't have to be about one thing in particular, but maybe a majority of things. Sometimes I just have stop and think for awhile. I usually think while I am running. I just go out a certain way and just keep going until I get tired, then I turn around and head home. Once I ended up running about 8 miles before I was finished thinking about everything. If I don't just stop and think about everything every once in a while I go crazy; thinking works as a stress reliever for me.

Act Quickly, Think slowly

I think this proverb is true. You should act quickly and think slowly. If you think quickly you could will miss some of the very important things. By thinking slowly you can choose the best answer/situation possible. Sometimes if you act before you think through everything than you could make a huge mistake that you can't get out of. For example if you decided you go hang out with you friends one night and you decide to be crazy while you are driving- by driving on the wrong side of the road, or by driving 60 mph down a really curvy road- you could get severely hurt or possibly die. You might think it is fun a the time, but if something happens, like another car driving along the road the opposite way, you could die.
If you act slowly than you could miss some of the amazing things in life. A lot of time life will only provide an opportunity once so when it arrives you have to think about about it, but then act on it. Don't sit around to long and miss it.

Fighting with dignity or surrendering in shame?

I think it is eaiser to fight with dignity. I think this because if you are fighting with dignity than you have a cause to fight, you aren't fighting just to beat someone up. You want to show people that you are just as good as they are even if you loose. They want People to still respect them; they would rather loose with dignity than just surrender/give up. I think it is harder to surrender in shame because nobody wants to feel bad about themselves they still want everyone to look at them as equal and not lower than they are.

Money, Money

Money it what people use when they go to get/buy something else. It is just another form of barter. I think that people could go without money, if nobody had money than nobody would be poor or rich; we would all be equal. But, because we use money there are people who have very little and some that have a lot, thus making it very important. No matter how much money a person has they still want more, so there is never enough money to go around. Due to the lack of money some people can not have the same luxuries that others have. In a figurative way I think that money does make the world go round, because with out it you can't have the basic necessities of life. Literally, though, money doesn't make the world go round, gravity does.

A family that laughs together stays together

Laughter unifies us because it brings people together. It does this by creating conversations that we will remember forever and that we would want to tell others about. Laughter is important because without it life would be very boring, lifeless, depressing, and quiet. Different things make me laugh. A lot of times the very littlest things are things that make me laugh the most. I think laughter is contagious becaue once one person starts laughing everyone begins to laugh. Then others will wonder why you are laughing so they will ask about it and then they will start laughing and so on and so on. Laughter is the music of the world.

Music

I love music. I love to sing. My favorite type of music to sing is gospel. I like gospel music because I like the words and the messages they say. A lot of times the lyrics in gospel music aren't just about God, they are about life situations that people have been through and go through everyday. Whenever I am stressed out or am mad about something I can just play some music and calm down. Everything from the day just fades away when I am listening to music. I could listen to music everyday.

Apple Pie

I love apple pie. Apple pie is the best type of pie in the world. I just love the way the crust crunches in my mouth when I'm eating a piece and the warm sweet apple slices. It just my mouth water every time I think about it. Mmmmmmm!!! What makes it even better is adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the top of the nice, warm, slice of pie. Mmmmm!!!

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones

When someone always finds fault in someone else it means that they are feeling insecure, that they have to bring everyone else down in order to feel good about themselves. A lot of time the bullies you know are the ones who are insecure in some way. Weather it is because of grades or someone is better than them on a team most bullies have to pick on others in order to feel that level satisfaction of being better than someone else. I have been picked on and been made to feel like I was scum and that the other person was better than I was. I have, also probably, made others feel like they were scum.

Pre-race thoughts

I am so excited that our first cross country race is tommorow. I can not wait. I am ready to run and to win. We have never beat DC, but I think this year we will. Tommorow we will get to see who is better. This meet is a fun one, because it is a relay, so two people are on a team. We each get to run a 3k. It will be so short and so much fun. I can't wait.

Running

I love running. When I run I feel free from everything and everyone. I don't have to think about how to run. I just do it. When I'm running I have the chance to think and clear my mind. I can work through any problems I'm having and decide which side of the argument is the best. I love running. It is my outlook in life.

Egyptian Proverb

I think this proverb means that the more friends you have the less lonely you will be. Friends make you feel loved. Love is one the necessities of life. Without love you can not go on with life, you think that there is no point to live.

Mom and me

I'm think I am most like my mom. When I look in the mirror I see her face looking back. Brown eyes, freckled face, same smile. We both love to run and be outdoors. We can't go a single day without being outside. We just hate those days when it is storming or is to cold and we can't go outside. We both love and are good at math and science. I want to be in the engineering field just like she is.
